"I founded ED BANGER RECORDS in 2003.

With my 10 years experience behind Daft Punk, it was time to pass the knowledge to the

kids.

The idea with ED BANGER RECORDS is to give unknown artists a chance.

The music must be modern,

not only electronic, let’s say contemporary sounds.

Labels like Mo’Wax in UK and Versatile in France influenced a lot the way Ed Rec will be.

French artist SO ME is the official art director. He has complete power on the look of the label.

The label turned adult end of 2003, I mean jumped to another floor. During a memorable cheese party, I met the 2 JUSTICE kids. We put out Justice vs Simian « Never be alone (we are your friends) ». This record opened us the doors of cool clubs, smart record shops and good taste stereos.

On the b-side, another long time friend, DJ MEHDI gave me a supa class remix from Versatile’s Château Flight. DJ MEHDI is the missing link between hip hop and electro. He found the name of the label and his album « Lucky Boy » is the first album release of ED BANGER RECORDS.

After 2 releases, we put out hip hop, electro, house, a good start !

JUSTICE did their first remix ever, you know now, they’re good at this

! I started to receive a lot of demos, one from a guy called « ssshhh », weird name… He became KRAZY BALDHEAD, I liked his broken beats and his jazzy vibes. He was open to the french new school, so we asked FEADZ and PARA ONE to remix his first 12’’, it was in 2004, 2 years later, those 2 boys are on top of the french hot producers list.

In the same time, we started our « Ed Banger parties », from Paris’ Respect boat to London’s Fabric, and from Montreal’s Club Savoy to Tokyo’s Ageha.

While in London at Fabric, we met ZONGAMIN. We were big fans of his work.

Generously, he gave us a CD of a track he was working on « Bongo Song »…

It became ne of our offical club banger, people went crazy on the bongo beats ! I decided to change the rules of the label and welcome ZONGAMIN for a one of. « Bongo Song » sold 4000 copies, I wish we could put out more records from him…

Earlier I told you about FEADZ. He is probably France's hottest DJ. I'm glad I met him a long time ago. With DJ MEHDI & him, we used to be the Espionnage Soundsystem (rip) FEADZ used to be signed on B-Pitch label. I'm glad he joined the family.

One day he came up with a track, saying he asked his girlfriend to sing on it for fun...

UFFIE is the last artist I signed on the label. She arrived from nowhere. FEADZ and MR IZO are making the beats while she's screaming at boys. UFFIE got a lot of hype and lot of friend requests, but that's not enough. So we decided to take time and build a real profile, a real artist. She toured the world, spent her nights in studio, she's a hard working girl.

We’re not running after awards, but when it comes it’s always a pleasure.

We got the « MTV Music Europe Best Video award 2006 » for Justice vs Simian « We are your friends ». And both XLR8R & URB magazine have made us « Label of the year 2006 »
